Description

In 2005, we were the first clinic in the world to invent highly specific image-guided procedures that used the body’s own bone marrow concentrate containing stem cells to treat common orthopedic problems, a field now called Interventional Orthopedics As international pioneers of these procedures that use the patient’s own cells and blood platelets (i.e. platelet-rich plasma or PRP), our board-certified medical doctors have more experience and have treated substantially more patients using these advanced Interventional Orthopedics procedures than any other provider or clinic across the globe. Our procedures can help you if you are in pain or, in more severe cases, provide an alternative to surgery.

  • John Schultz, MD

    Co-Founder

My passion and specialization are in the evaluation and treatment of cervical disc, facet, ligament, and nerve pain, including the non-surgical treatment of Craniocervical instability (CCI). I quit a successful career in anesthesia and traditional pain management to pursue and advance the use of PRP and bone marrow concentrate for common orthopedic conditions. I have been a patient with severe pain and know firsthand the limitations of traditional orthopedic surgery. I am a co-founder of the Centeno-Schultz Clinic which was established in 2005. Being active is a central part of my life as I enjoy time skiing, biking, hiking, sailing with my family and 9 grandchildren. Compassion, communication, and grace are central themes in my life and practice.

  • John Pitts, MD

Dr. Pitts is originally from Chicago, IL but is a medical graduate of Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. After Vanderbilt he completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. The focus of PM&R is restoration of function and quality of life. In residency he gained much experience in musculoskeletal medicine, rehabilitation, spine and sports medicine along with some regenerative medicine. He also gained significant experience in fluoroscopically guided spinal procedures and peripheral injections. However, Dr. Pitts wanted to broaden his skills and treatment options beyond the current typical standards of care. Thus, he came to Colorado as a fellow to learn more about regenerative medicine and interventional orthopedics as well as to further develop his skills in fluoroscopic guided procedures, diagnostic ultrasound and interventional ultrasound. He has been involved in research and development of the regenerative procedures and post procedural rehabilitation. He completed his fellowship in 2014 and was excited to stay on as a staff physician. Additionally he has interests in nutrition, supplements, and complementary and alternative medicine. He has written and published a nutrition guide; 21st Century Guide to Nutrition and Health. Dr. Pitts believes in taking a holistic approach to patient care. He is excited to continue to learn and develop his career around regenerative medicine. Dr. Pitts is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In his spare time he enjoys all outdoor activities, sports, running, hiking, lifting weights, Crossfit, biking, and traveling with his wife.

  • Brandon Money, DO, MS

    TPI Certified

Dr. Money is an Indiana native who now proudly calls Colorado home. He attended medical school at Kansas City University and then returned to Indiana to complete a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program at Indiana University, where he was trained on non-surgical methods to improve health and function as well as rehabilitative care following trauma, stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, etc. Dr. Money has been following the ideology behind Centeno-Schultz Clinic and Regenexx since he was in medical school, as he believed there had to be a better way to care for patients than the status quo. The human body has incredible healing capabilities and he sought to learn more about harnessing those potentials without the use of steroid injections and surgery. This led him to the Interventional Orthopedics Foundation (IOF), which trains physicians from all over the world with techniques using bone marrow concentrate from the patient’s own body. During residency, Dr. Money began attending the IOF annual conference which gathers the brightest minds in the field who share their views and cutting-edge research discoveries in the field. Needless to say, he was more than ecstatic to begin fellowship training with Centeno-Schultz Clinic after completing residency. Dr. Money became an attending physician with Centeno-Schultz following the completion of his fellowship. Dr. Money has been involved in athletics his entire life. During graduate and medical school he was a competitive triathlete, participating in races in the Midwest and East coast. He has also had the opportunity to be a part of the medical staff for Ironman triathlon races. Now he fully embraces the Colorado lifestyle with endless cycling routes, snowboarding in the winter, and summitting “14ers” (14,000-foot peaks for those not from Colorado) in the summer. Dr. Money considers golf his favorite activity and he has been playing for 25+ years. He is the only physician in Colorado who is actively certified by the Titleist Performance Institute. That means he understands how certain characteristics of your golf swing are either caused by or can lead to injuries anywhere from the neck to the foot.
